The Peter Cushing Dr. Who movies have been a popular part of Dr. Who. With many books and toys marketed to promote those films, collectors have swarmed to buy them up. Now, there is a new book going behind the making of these wonderful films. "Dr. Who and The Daleks: The Official Book of the Film" by John Walsh went to reprint in one hour after release. Today, I talk with John Walsh about this wonderful new book!

In 1981 there were 12 new hardcovers published with 9 novels, 2 reference books, and one reprint with a new cover. The writers strike is in full force making new books impossible to publish, but why not a few old titles in hardcover? Join me and my guest Tony Whitt (host of the Dr. Who Target Book Club Podcast) on this part of the adventure in collecting classic hardcovers. I also have a most outrageous offer that even River Song can't fix! See you there! Keep collecting!

It is rare to speak with a veteran Dr. Who companion. Mr. Peter Purves appeared in 46 episodes of Dr. Who with William Hartnell. He started as Morton Dill in part 3 of The Chase, then boarded the Tardis in part 6. He continued his adventures until a new producer came in and told him The Savages would his last. In this interview we learn about his role, his working relationship with William Hartnell, his working with Daleks, and a collectible prop that he threw away. I believe this to be my best interview and my highest ranking guest to date! I also have a most outrageous offer that is 10 times the going price of a new item! Welcome to the new year and the 60th anniversary of Dr. Who! The continuing legend of Morton Dill!

The price has gone up since publication! New copies can be had for $116

Peter Purves as the legendary Morton Dill! Takes the piss out of a Dalek as he says. Had no idea it was his audition for Dr. Who.

Let's talk about the Doctor's favorite tool, the Sonic Screwdriver. The talk will take a look at the 54-year-history of this fictional tool: from its humble beginnings as a life vest whistle and pen light, to Jodie Whittaker's modern crystalline design, and will also look at the way it has been used in the narratives. This was recorded live at Chicago Tardis. All visuals will be linked below. We have collection protection, A wrap-up of Chicago Tardis 2022, and the Most Outrageous offer!

In 1980 there were 12 new hardcovers published including 1 American printing. They did away with dust-jackets in June of that year. Artwork on the cover becomes a legal matter. Join me and my guest Tony Whitt (host of the Dr. Who Target Book Club Podcast) on this part of the adventure in collecting classic hardcovers. I also have the final Chicago Tardis Update. See you there! Keep collecting!

Before the time of Video recording and such, there were two companies that ventured into alternative media to allow children to watch a show at home! Chad Valley and GAF (Viewmaster) made that possible. The Doctor Who Give-A-Show Projector from 1965 and Viewmaster Dr. Who Full Circle and Castrovalva in 1982/83. I also provide full updates on Chicago Tardis this November. Just in, Chicago Tardis is requiring Masks this year as a precaution. Be sure to get a 3D mask so you can talk.

1979 was a tough year for the world with high inflation and gasoline prices doubling! It was a good year for Dr. Who. Tom Baker's Doctor in his 2nd year in the USA and now rural parts of Canada. WH Allen decided to reprint 1 book and print 8 new books this year. Not even keeping pace with 1 per month. Nelson-Doubleday works with Pinnacle to produce a book club hardcover of 3 stories only available in the USA. Tony Whitt and I go through the list in publication order with Tony giving perspective on the actual stories. Larry talks about book conditions and values. These books are very expensive to procure. This will also be the last year you see a cover by Chris Achilleos.

We enter the year 1978. The Allen Wingate imprint is gone and we now have the Longbow/WH Allen, then just WH Allen. These hardcover books now go for big bucks on the secondary market and sometimes the reason is a head scratcher. I go through all of the hardcover books in publication order and my guest, Tony Whitt (Host of the Dr. Who Target Book Club Podcast) tells us what his panel rated each story. Got an extra $6000? You might be able to afford this year's collection! Keep Collecting!
